The Chief Engineer is responsible for administering the company engineering programs in accordance with ISO9001-2000/ AS9100, customer, FAA/JAA, other regulatory guidelines and Helicomb International requirements. Oversight for design of production tools and/or machines, as well as for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling. Develops new program processes, tooling, and production controls.
Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design of production tools and/or machines, as well as for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling. He or she supports new programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer sets up new equipment, ensures satisfactory operation of the new equipment, and teaches others to use it properly. Other duties as required fulfilling Helicomb’s goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Will designs tools and/or machines of varying types for use in the manufacturing.
· Provide solutions to production related problems involving quality, produce-ability, and efficiency.
· Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
· Set up new equipment, ensures its satisfactory operation, and instructs others to use the new equipment properly.
· Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
· Assists Sales/Marketing by acting as a technical resource for customers.
· Assists Estimating as required in the preparation of sales quotations/proposals by providing technical advice.
· Recommend incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
· May participate in Contract Review activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of an ABET accredited engineering 4 year degree.
Must have five to ten years experience in an Aerospace Company.
Estimator
To develop quotations for customers based upon cost estimates for parts, subassemblies, raw materials, labor, and overhead and review reports for variances, performances against standards, etc. to assist in ensuring the success of the organization.
DEPARTMENT: Helicopter Repair/Manufacturing SUPERVISOR: Sales/Marketing Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Receives customer generated requests for quotations (RFQ’s), reviews engineering drawings, specifications, and available tooling in order to develop costing information for development of quotations
· Performs analysis of operations required for fabrication or assembly of parts and determines if the capability and capacity exists in house or will be done at an outside supplier.
· Obtains quotations for materials and operations/processes that will be sub-contracted.
· Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, overhead, tooling, inspection, and non-recurring engineering costs incurred in the fabrication or assembly of part(s).
· Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate
· Prepares quotation for submittal to customer based upon current pricing strategy.
· Reviews quotation and cost detail with supervisor and other parties as required.
· Provides a point of contact for customers in reference to RFQ’s.
· Review performance against estimate for pertaining to costs associated with contracts awarded.
· May participate in Contract Review activities

A. Education and Training
a. The Estimator should have a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.

a. Engineering degree and /or training in manufacturing operations.

c. (1) Year of estimating experience.
d. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, contract clauses and requirements.
e. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Buyer and Supply Chain
A Buyer is responsible for purchasing aerospace products and materials for the company according to established procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Purchase Orders:
o The Buyer is to evaluate requirements using the following four tools: the Bill of Materials, the Purchasing Queue, the Job Queue and Master Production Schedule. Requirements should then be cross-referenced with current inventory levels and additional stock already on order. Where feasible, the Buyer will send out at least three quotes per item purchased. Purchasing decisions should be based on supplier performance, price and lead-time.
· Expediting:
o The Buyer is to monitor all quoted lead times to actual deliveries and requirements based on the purchase order. When quoted lead times are not met, Buyer is to contact Supplier and resolve the situation. If the requirements change the due date, Buyer must notify Supplier in enough time to allow Supplier to react to Production Schedule change.
· Inventory Verification:
o Perishable materials are to be identified and monitored for expiration dates as required. A Perishable Inventory Report is to be prepared on a monthly basis and distributed to Buyers and Quality personnel for re-certification/disposition of expired materials, and to specific departmental personnel.
· Return Materials:
o It is the Buyer’s responsibility to enter Return Material purchase orders and shippers on any goods received on a Purchase Order and were rejected during inspection. This must be done so Debit and Credit memos can be issued and the invoice(s) paid.
· Make or Buy:
o The Buyer is to determine the best method for replenishing stock items. Make items are considered as sub-contract items in the Item Master and require our company to supply the raw materials. Buy items are considered as raw material items in the Item Master and those are items where a Supplier is providing the raw material.
· Miscellaneous:
oOccasionally, Buyer may be required to purchase items not aerospace realted.
